Tel Aviv Light Rail - Neve Tzedek
The project, which was part of the development of a 300 – meter – long section of the Tel Aviv Light Rail, consisted of removal of 32,000 cubic meters of dirt with special equipment working off a pre constructed concrete platform (Top Down). The excavation followed the route of the old Turkish railway from the Herzl site in the east extending to the beach in the west in the city of Tel Aviv.
The excavation of the material was extremely complex, as it was carried out in a very limited and crowded place in a dense urban area. This required strict coordination and constant removal of materials from the site as there was no storage facilities. Excavation was carried out during the night and export of the dirt was performed during the day. The project was completed in a record time of only 3 and a half months
Dead Sea - pool 10
In cooperation with “Dead Sea Factories”, a company that produces minerals in the Dead Sea area, we carried out restoration of the suction basin. Following the encroachment of fresh water in the area of the Dead Sea factories, erosion was created in the intake basin and we were engaged to undertake the restoration project. The project was carried out at the lowest point in the Dead Sea, along a particularly problematic area full of sinkholes and very frequent intrusions of groundwater. It involved the activation of a large number of powerful pumps that required round-the-clock supervision of them resulting in completion of the work in a very short period of time.
Sheba Hospital – Ramat Gan
The project focused on providing the infrastructure for a new nuclear medicine building at the “Sheba” hospital in Tel Hashomer, which is one of the largest and most advanced hospitals in Israel. Work included extensive excavation to prepare for the lowest floors of the building and the base for the foundation work. Our work included installing hundreds of drilled piles and construction of a perimeter pile wall with sequential installation of soil anchors to allow for continual excavation. Our work was performed on time and against a strict schedule all within the area of an existing operating medical facility.
Route 79
Route 79 was an existing narrow one-way road located in the north of the country near the city of Nazareth. The government owned company, Netevei Israel, engaged Olizki in collaboration with Ashtrom Ltd, to upgrade road 79 into a dual direction – two lane carriageway with improved road conditions. This will facilitate faster travel through the area and to reduce the risk of accidents.
As part of this huge design -build project, our firm performed over million cubic meters of earthworks, cast 30,000 cubic meters of concrete work for the construction of many kilometers of retaining walls, two bridges and six underground passages.
Development of Rabin Blvd. - Ashkelon
The project consisted of development of the infra structure for a new neighborhood in Ashkelon. The work consisted of ground preparation, excavation, underground passages and bridges, roads and underground drainage and sewer systems to accommodate future residential construction. The work also included environmentally friendly construction such as protecting trees in order to preserve them, as well as establishing a set of dedicated ecological crossings to protect the animals living in the work area environment
